Current State Of The HoneyBee Portrait
So this week the focus cross stitch project is the HoneyBee Portrait from Heaven and Earth Designs! I have barely started the project before this week, and I stitched on it a little this afternoon. I think I doubled my stitch count. I will post a picture at the end of the week as well!
For the record, I’m stitching on 18 ct Aida. The project has 500 x 687 stitches (that’s a total of 343,500 stitches!) utilizing 89 colors. It’s gonna be gorgeous!
I can’t see my pencil marks through the fabric and the stitching as it stands right now. I’ve only recently starting using a fine pencil for some of my full coverage pieces, and I don’t see the pencil at all once it’s stitched.
I watched a video (unknown ref) where several tests were done on different writing utensils to see what would and would not show up thru the stitching. It was shown that a pencil does show up and does not completely wash out. I hope I am wrong about that. Has it been your experience that pencil comes out and does not show thru?

Yes I am for the gridding. Full coverage and it shouldn’t show in the final piece!
